Meet Gabriel, a toymaker who specialises in creating children’s toys out of sustainable wood. Entirely handmade and painted using almost exclusively reclaimed and recycled wood, Gabriel has been making toys for over 25 years.
In an age of mass-produced, battery-powered and disposable toys, which are of variable quality and often created in conditions of exploitation in non-ethical circumstances, Gabriel creates his toys with a clear conscience – giving much joy to his customers.
A philosophy student who accidentally discovered the joys of craftsmanship, this documentary explores the creation of his toys and the philosophy around his creation.
